Paul Clarke

REMEMBERING PAUL

Sadly Paul Clarke, our former Church Treasurer and Deacon, died on the 2nd September after a very long and difficult illness.  We celebrated his life along with his family on the 21st September and it was wonderful to welcome Paul’s friends and colleagues from years gone by.

Paul and Janet met at the Church as teenagers and married at “The Tabs” in 1965.  Their children, Heather and Neil, were christened here and grew up through GB and BB and Sunday School, taking part in many of the plays written and produced by their Dad.

Paul was not well enough to attend Church for some time but he only retired as Treasurer in March 2021 and even then he kept in touch with all the happenings of the Church and took part in Zoom Church Meetings and Bible Studies.  We will all miss him but he left us with his book “Bombed but Unbowed” which tells of the night the Church was destroyed in the Sheffield Blitz when one wall remained with the words “O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness”.  A wonderful memorial to Paul’s life of dedication to God and to “The Tabs”.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Janet and all the family.
