It was a joy to welcome everyone to our celebration service remembering the foundation of The Girls Life Brigade 32nd Sheffield in 1926. The company had been formed by May Pagden (later Mrs Carnelly) when she recognised that girls needed to learn life skills whilst learning more about Jesus. Amongst the congregation there were former members who were girls in GB (some having travelled from Birmingham, Oxford and Worthing) and former leaders from other companies around Sheffield, as well as our own church members.
Additionally the girls celebrated on the Monday evening painting pottery baubles to remember 2026 and the celebration of the Centenary of the Foundation of The Girls Brigade 32nd Sheffield.
We are now looking forward to the start of a new year in ACE, our first night back will be Monday 21st September and we hope that we will be able to welcome new girls in addition to our present members. We have already planned a new programme and we hope there will be something everyone will enjoy. If you know any girls who are 6 and over then please tell them about ACE and the first night is FREE, then it is £1.50 per week including all craft materials, baking ingredients, etc, as well as a drink and biscuits before going home. We believe it’s good value for money and we think it possibly can’t be beaten!
